Bill Thomas Authorized
1963-1965 Cheetah Continuation Car!
Its time once again for the "Cat" to catch its prey.

The 1963-1965 Continuation Cheetah is NOT a replica or a kit
car. These cars are a Continuation of the original
Bill Thomas Cheetah Car, authorized by Bill Thomas himself. This is the
Real Thing! Our Cheetah's are built with the original concept, drawings
and specifications from 1965. Each Cheetah comes with a Letter of
Authenticity signed by Bill Thomas that matches the number on the frame.
Here at Tangible Toys we custom build each car for our customers.
The Bill Thomas Cheetah Race Car Story: "The Cheetah was meant
to be a Cobra-killer" Sometime in 1963 Bill Thomas and Don Edmunds
got together and came up with the design for a front-engine sports car.
This meeting of the minds took place at Bill's California race
car shop and as Don states, this car was built to demonstrate to GM
their capabilities. The cars weight was about 1700 lbs. and had an
aluminum body (later cars came with a fiberglass body), a stroked 327
Corvette Fuel injection motor (putting out about 450hp.). This car is so
short that it didn't need a driveshaft, the Muncie transmission bolted
directly to the rear end. This combination made for an extremely fast
car.
In late 1965 production of the Cheetah came to a stop due to a fire in
the factory. The fire stopped production around the 16th car. It is
believed that 11 cars were completed and at least 8 cars survived.
